Italian Speaking Senior Credit Controller - London. Ref: SCR 258

A senior credit controller is required for a successful international fashion distributor, in a stand alone role reporting to the Group FD. This role will suit a credit controller who is knowledgeable about the international wholesale fashion sector and who enjoys working with pan European customers.

Since this is quite a new role in the company, there is scope to make your mark and make a difference! You will be a key part of a brand new finance team. This is not a people management role, but it requires a full range of credit control management skills and basic accounting knowledge. It’s a small finance team, so a flexible and hands-on attitude to work is required. Occasionally, you may need to assist with banking and bookkeeping tasks such as entering supplier invoices, reconciling purchase invoices and updating Sage for pre-payments. Main Duties:

• Credit control of 300 – 400 accounts in Europe
• Setting up new accounts in the system
• Undertaking credit checks on European and UK customers
• Establishing and approving customer credit limits
• Updating credit limits with the credit insurance company and submitting new applications correctly
• Establish a Dunning Cycle and send regular statements to customers
• Processing payments and reconciliation of customer accounts on SAGE
• Produce a weekly blocked deliveries list, showing deliveries on hold, stating reason and action taken
• Carefully releasing and blocking deliveries ( according to payment terms and payments recorded)
• Producing sales invoices and issuing and monitoring credit notes
• Approving refund requests for processing
• Posting received cash and cheques to the sales ledger
• Keeping ledgers clean and updated by regular account reconciliations
• Delegation of selected customer accounts to COFACE (invoice discounters). Provide monthly reconciliation reports to COFACE
• Producing weekly accounts receivable (AR) risk reports for senior management and sales. Update outstanding debtors list weekly.
• Budget management
• Statements of account, legal letters, taking legal action if necessary
• Processing claims to Euler Hermes and reporting on this weekly.
• Inform MD of accounts declined by credit insurers, and why.

Person Profile:

• Advantageous - additional languages, especially Italian.
• Experience in dealing with an International customer sales ledger.
• Experience of using Sage Line 50.
• 3 years experience of credit control, preferably in fashion distribution.
• Ambitious, pro-active, flexible and commercially minded.

• £28k - 35k + benefits. Located in London.
